Eclipse Academy

Eclipse is a well established modern martial arts academy catering for many different styles. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is predominantly a ground fighting art focusing on submission holds with joint locks and chokeholds. The premise is that a smaller and weaker person is able to overcome larger and stronger opponents whose advantages are neutralised against a jiu-jitsu exponent when grappling on the ground. Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is an efficient self defence and an extraordinary way of excercising while developing a wide range of qualities such as humility, discipline, respect, self-esteem, concentration, body awareness and balance. At Eclipse Blackbelt Academy, we offer a female only environment to enable the study of kick boxing, modern free-style karate & self defence. The classes cater for all levels of fitness & ability; beginners are welcome at any time. Classes are structured offering one class per week predominately instructional , learning techniques & self defence whilst the second class offers a fun & exciting workout to develop fitness levels with padwork & circuit training. The Little Ninja program is a twice weekly martial arts class designed for 4,5 and 6 year olds which aims to enhance positive development in a fun and motivating way. The program developes the following 8 skills BALANCE, CO-ORDINATION, CONTROL, DISCIPLINE, FITNESS, FOCUS, MEMORY, TEAMWORK,  Each skill is developed through instruction of specialised drills which appear as games. From lesson one of the Little Ninja Program, discipline is enforced through method of CREATION verses DEMAND; each child is encouraged to have good behaviour and respect.
